The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, is the sole authority for issuing Apostille certificates in India.
• Normal Apostille • Apostille with "No Responsibility" Clause • Online Apostille with QR Code Verification
For first-time submission in a foreign Hague Convention country, Indian Apostille documents are generally accepted for up to 6 months from the date of issue. However, some countries and immigration authorities may require recently issued documents.
Several countries do not accept Apostilled PCCs older than 3 months, even though the Apostille itself remains valid.
In many cases, the Apostille remains valid for the lifetime of that document for that specific country, unless the receiving authority requests a fresh document.
If you relocate to another Hague Convention country after 6 months, authorities may require a newly Apostilled document depending on their immigration, employment, or residency regulations.
If an employee is transferred to another Hague Convention country by the same multinational employer, a fresh Apostille may or may not be required depending on company policy and local immigration requirements.
📋 Since Apostille acceptance ultimately depends on the receiving authority, applicants should always verify the latest requirements before travel.
