Super Legalization in India for Nepal, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka PCC

Some Hague Convention member countries - including Croatia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic - do not maintain an Embassy, Consulate or High Commission in Nepal, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. When a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) issued in one of these three countries needs to be legalized for such a destination, the Croatia, Slovakia or Czech Republic Embassy present in New Delhi, India completes the legalization instead - since India is the nearest neighbouring country to Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. This process is known as Super Legalization.

Super Legalization Through Croatia Embassy, New Delhi

Documents required: MoFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) attested PCC of the respective country (Nepal, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka), and a passport copy.

Time frame: Approximately 7 to 30 working days.

Super Legalization Through Slovakia Embassy, New Delhi

Documents required: MoFA attested PCC, an Authority Letter (format details provided by us) duly attested by a Notary of the respective country's government, and a copy of the Visa Appointment date confirmation email.

Time frame: Slovakia Embassy accepts PCC Super Legalization submission and collection only once a week - Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Please plan document submission accordingly, as this fixed weekly slot cannot be adjusted by us.

Super Legalization Through Czech Republic Embassy, New Delhi

Documents required: Original MoFA attested PCC, and a passport copy of the candidate.

Process: All case details must first be emailed to the Czech Republic Embassy stating that PCC Super Legalization is required - this email may be sent by us or directly by the candidate. Once the Embassy confirms a submission date, the document is submitted on that date, and processing takes approximately 7 working days from submission.

Important: Confirm Prior Embassy Attestation Requirement

Before Super Legalization, some Croatia, Slovakia or Czech Republic authorities require the PCC to first be attested by the issuing country's own Embassy present in India - the Nepal Embassy India, Bangladesh Embassy India, or Sri Lanka Embassy India, as applicable. This requirement must always be confirmed in advance. If prior Embassy Attestation is required, it adds approximately 4 to 5 additional working days to the overall timeline.

Original Document vs Scanned Copy Requirement

Document submission requirements differ by source country: for Nepal issued PCC, a MoFA attested scanned copy is generally sufficient. For Bangladesh and Sri Lanka issued PCC, the original MoFA attested document is required.

Translation Requirement - Please Confirm in Advance

Some Croatia, Slovakia and Czech Republic authorities may require the PCC to be translated into their official language - this should always be confirmed in advance of submission. Translation can be completed in one of two ways: either by the Embassy itself, or through an Embassy-authorized translator. If completed through an authorized translator, this adds approximately 2 additional working days to the process.
